Music is now at the heart of the house. Instead of being stored away in a cupboard it’s ever-present and feeds into day-to-day life, which is exactly what we’d hoped for.
Creating a new home for the owners’ extensive vinyl collection was at the heart of this brief.
A music room with sliding pocket doors sits immediately off the kitchen, enabling the space to be opened-up when hosting or completely sealed off for a more intimate listening experience.
Having a child and renovating a house are, arguably, two of the hardest things you can do and we did them both at the same time. I don’t know how we would have made it through without Ben!

The material palette is predominantly focused on natural materials with oak cabinet fronts and flooring. Cork is used to line the shelves, providing visual interest and enhancing the acoustic performance of the space.
Circles and arches are adopted as motifs throughout as a reference to the architecture of the building. A large circular oculus skylight is complemented by ambient wall lighting and task lighting integrated within the joinery.
